How Big Do Bearded Dragons Get?
Bearded dragon size depends on a couple of things including:
- The species/breed
- Their environment
- Their diet and health
- Their sex
Bearded Dragon Species Size
Some bearded dragon species are bigger in sizes than the others. For example, the most popular specie of bearded dragons, the Pogona Vitticeps grows bigger than most of the other breeds.
Bearded Dragon Size Based on Environment
Bearded dragons can only grow to its maximum size if the environment is favorable. A bearded dragon will grow to its full length and size only if it has enough space.
Bearded Dragon Size Based on Diet and Health
Diet and health also plays an important role in the size of bearded dragons. A healthy dragon grows larger and faster as compared to unhealthy dragons. You will need to keep an eye on your bearded dragon diet if you want to keep it healthy.

The male bearded dragons generally grow larger than females.

There are two ways to measure the size of bearded dragons. You can measure them either from tip of the tail to the tip of their mouth or by body length. In the bearded dragon size chart below, we have used the first method i.e. from tip to tip.
